Conference Speaker FAQs

1) Will I be paid for this speaking opportunity?

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is a not-for-profit organization, and no honoraria will be paid for presentations. However, we understand that many speakers will need to travel to our venue in Victoria, BC for this year’s conference. As such, speakers are offered an event package and may be eligible for travel, accommodation, and meal reimbursements as per the reimbursement policy and subject to approval. Full details will be provided to those speakers who are selected to present.

2) I’m from out of town, will accommodation be provided?

One night’s accommodation will be provided for those who live outside of the Victoria, BC area and need to travel to our conference venue.

3) When will I be notified if my presentation has been selected or not?

After the submission deadline passes, our internal conference advisory committees will take time to carefully review each submission. Background and reference checks of speakers will also be conducted at this time. This process will take a few weeks. As such, all decisions will be communicated with speakers by late June 2026.
