Thank you for participating in the 2024 Engineers and Geoscientists BC Annual Conference and AGM (the “Conference”). The following Conference Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and your participation in the Conference. “Attendee” for purposes of these Terms will include all participants at the Conference, including exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, guests, and individual attendees. By participating in this Conference, you agree to these Terms so please read them carefully.

Code of Conduct

It is the expectation of Engineers and Geoscientists BC that all participants, including attendees, speakers, staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders at Engineers and Geoscientists BC meetings will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. We are committed to facilitating a welcoming, respectful, and professional community for all.

Participants must avoid making statements or engaging in any conduct in relation to other individuals or groups that is based on or influenced by distinctions in that individual or group’s race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Disruptive, inappropriate, or harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes but is not limited to inappropriate or intimidating behavior, actions, language, gestures and/or written or photographic material, which the harasser knows or ought to know is abusive and/or unwelcome. 

Engineers and Geoscientists BC reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any party from the event at any time

Communications from Engineers and Geoscientists BC

By completing the registration process, you acknowledge that you will receive emails and other communications from Engineers and Geoscientists BC related to the Conference to facilitate your participation.

Photography Disclaimer and Use of Multimedia

Engineers and Geoscientists BC will take photographs and videos at this event and may use those in our news or promotional material in print, electronic, or other media, including our website and social media channels. By attending this event, you grant Engineers and Geoscientists BC the right to use your name and photograph for such purposes. Should you wish to avoid being photographed, please notify conference staff at the onsite event registration desk.

Health and Safety

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all Attendees. 

Engineers and Geoscientists BC will implement health and safety protocols appropriate to the public health circumstances existing at the time of the Conference. By attending and participating in the in-person Conference, you agree to follow all current health and safety mandates and requirements set forth by the Canadian Government, the BC Provincial Health Services Authority, and Engineers and Geoscientists BC. 

Compliance with the protocols adopted by Engineers and Geoscientists BC will be mandatory for in-person attendance and participation at the Conference. Additional information regarding the specific health and safety protocols, and any necessary consents by you, will be communicated to Attendees prior to the first day of the Conference. You may opt to participate in the Conference via live stream if you decide not to abide by the Conference protocols. Engineers and Geoscientists BC will not refund any difference in cost between the Conference in-person and live stream registrations. 

These policies are subject to change to comply with any change in Provincial Health Officer (PHO) requirements. Please note that some venues may have policies that exceed these requirements.
